Looking back on 2014

Posted on February 28, 2015 at 1:12 PM Comments comments (9)
Well its safe to say it's been a long time since we have last updated the My Pet Piggy Blog. We are now two months into the new year of 2015 and I wanted to take some time to look back at our journey for 2014. Last year was a very exciting year for us. We started off the year by being Rhode Islands first licensed and certified breeders for Micro Pigs. The excitement around this got us news coverage from ABC six local and national.    (http://abcnews.go.com/US/home-pig-sty-micro-pigs/story?id=22975257) click on the link above to check out the article.

Shortly after this we were then featured in Rhode Islands biggest magazine Rhode Island Monthly for there April 2014 Edition. Within the same month The Road Show had taken notice to our article in Rhode Island Monthly and had asked us to feature on one of their episodes. (http://wpri.com/2014/04/02/tiny-pet-pigs-gain-popularity/ )                        Copy and paste the link above to check out the article.

With all this coverage we were very excited and humbled but our biggest accomplishment was yet to come. At the end of April of 2014 we had received a phone call from a local dog breeder in Connecticut. She was being filmed for Animal Planets show Too Cute and asked if we would be interested in teaming up with her. So April 24th 2014 we feature filmed for Animal planets Too Cute and the show aired in August of 2014.

Other than just media coverage My Pet Piggy had alot of other things going on. We were involved with more charity and community work in 2014 than any other year. Including visits too Pumpkin Patch Academy, The Met, East Greenwich History Preservation, Praise Tabernacle and many more.

With everything that opened up for us we made sure not to stray away from what it is that we do. Providing micro pop belly pigs with loving and stable households. We had some amazing customers in 2014 and we thank you for all your support and your love for our amazing animals.

So with 2014 being complete we are excited and are looking forward to what 2015 has to bring.  If you would like to stay current about what we are up too you can always like us on Facebook or follow us on Instagram (My Pet Piggy).

Chris P. Bacon
This is Chris P. Bacon is one of the most famouse pigs right now. He has thousands of hits on his youtube page as well as being on nbc news and the Today Show. Chris P. Bacon was born with a disorder where both his back legs did not work. His origanal owner was faced with a tough decision on what to do with this poor little guy. She finally decided to bring him to the local Doctors office to be put down.  Dr Len Lucero addopted Crispy and created a rear leg wheel chair for him using his sons connect toys. This little guy has alot of heart and won't let any disability get in his way from living a happy life. For more details about Crispy and his owner you can click on the following links.

How much is that Piggy in the Window?

That's the tittle of the two articles that have been placed in Rhode Island's local newspapers. The Cranston Herald and Johnston Sunrise have both fallen in love with MY Pet Piggys  little micro pigs. Getting support from the local cities and towns is a huge accomplishment for us.   We owe a special thanks to Kim Kalunian for taking special interest in us and taking the time to write and publish these articles.
